The journey takes place along the Nile Meridien, the most significant energy line through Africa, running down from the Pyramids of Giza following the path of the Nile and South through Africa’s most significant sacred places. Guides and Facilitators

Janet Johnson was born and raised in Western Australia. Janet’s journey has taken her to many places around the world studying many healing modalities but is most at home with the shamanic and earth healing world. Janet was among the first tour group to visit the Global White Lions Trust at Timbavati with the first Transformational Tours group in 2007, forming a connection that has remained strong. Janet is shamanic healer and breath work instructor and has led women circles in Australia and overseas.

Marietta van der Werff is a Dutch national, and has lived in Zimbabwe since 2001. “Africa is my birth continent, and after many years of moving around the world I have returned Home. I am a plant breeder and business person by profession and am trained as an accredited Journey Practitioner and Conscious Coach. My connection with and love for Nature has been a defining part of me since childhood, and I have always felt a strong drive to share this passion. I feel privileged to be able to combine my hugely varied knowledge, skills and training acquired over 50 years of life,  and help people to awaken to their own Natural and deep connection with Life.”

Baba Mandaza, Mandaza Augustine Kandemwa, as a vessel of the Spirits, Mandaza receives visions and dreams, makes offerings, performs healing rituals and serves as a messenger to the ancient ones.

Ant Kashula is a highly experienced African game guide, mainly guiding in his beloved Zimbabwe and now with the Elephants at Gonerazhou. Ant will be our guide and constant companion during the bush walks, game drives and elephant encounters at Gonerazhou.

Linda Tucker is the founder and Director of the Global White Lion Protection Trust. Fate intervened in Linda’s life to drag her from a job as an advertising executive in London, to return to her native South Africa and undergo spiritual training with Maria Khosa, the Lion Queen of Africa, the highest female shaman on the continent, a role and title Linda now holds. Linda is the spiritual core of the project as well as guiding the day to day affairs of the Trust. Linda is the author of Mystery of the White Lions and Saving the Lion Queen.

Jason Turner is head Lion Ecologist and scientific advisor at the Global White Lion Protection Trust. He is a world expert on the behaviour of lions in the wild and oversees the running of the logistics of the reserve and the welfare of the lions. He is out with the lions at dawn and dusk every day and has a very close bond with them.

Malaria ~ Timbavati and Gonarezhou are considered by the World Health Organisation to be areas of risk to malaria infection. It is advisable to take medicine to prevent contracting malaria. Please obtain this medicine in your country prior to flying to Africa. Malarian in many cases is considered the ant malaria medicine with the least side affects. Please consult your health care professional for the best medicine for you.

Entry visas

South Africa ~ Citizens of Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand are not required to obtain a visa to enter South Africa as a tourist.

Zimbabwe ~ Passport holders of most non African countries are required to obtain a visa at the point of entry into Zimbabwe. The cost for single entry is $USD30, paid cash in US dollars. Your passport must have 6 months validity from the date of entry. This is not included in the pilgrimage price.

South Africa ~ The currency in South Africa is the Rand (ZAR). $AUD 1 = R10. It is recommended to have a travel passport with US or Australian dollars on it, a back up credit card for use at ATMs (remember to tell your bank you will be overseas so they don’t block your card) and approximately $AUD300-500 cash. There will be limited opportunities to withdraw money from ATMs so we advise you draw money on arrival at Johannesburg airport to pay for your incidentals and tip kitty during the tour. Unless you plan to purchase lots of souvenirs $AUD300 will easily cover meals, water, snacks and drinks. $AUD500 should cover everything.

Zimbabwe ~ You will only require a small amount of Zimbabwean dollars which can be exchanged on arrival in Harare for ZAR or your home currency.

Tips ~ A tip kitty contribution of R2000 (approximately $AUD200) per tour member is included in your payment. This covers tips to drivers, guides and accommodation. It does not include tips at restaurants for meals not included in the itinerary.

In 2012, Marietta van der Werff and Antonella Bargione, two healing practitioners living in Harare, Zimbabwe travelled to Gonarezhou National Park with the intention of assisting the wild elephants there to heal from the deprivations and disturbances they had faced due to their environment being encroached upon. Marietta and Antonella were soon to discover that it was this herd of female elephants who had called them to Gonarezhou to communicate both the pain and the teachings of the great mother and to open up a channel of healing for humans ready to return to natural law. The herd of matriarchs became their teachers and incredible encounters and communications ensued.

Marietta on our time at Gonerazhou:

This retreat offers a unique chance of spending uninterrupted time in “Nature Unedited”. Blend seamlessly into this ancient wilderness, observe and become part of its timeless story. Experience life in the wild as it chooses to unfold around you, while at the same time being pampered in ultimate bush comfort, hosted by a professional safari operator Ant Kashula and his team. During this retreat we can expect wildlife – and because of the energy focus of the retreat, especially elephants – to venture close to camp. Our host Ant Kashula will mentor us on how to safely interact with wildlife, and during our walks and drives he will share from his bottomless knowledge and deep love of this place. From camp we will venture out on walks and drives to explore the area and meet our true teachers and mentors – the elephants. Nothing in nature can be predicted, but one thing is certain: this experience will leave you changed and a richer person on a deep level …
